Consultancy the way that you want it

For businesses to grow sustainably, stay competitive and do right by their people, a strategy that incorporates ESG (environmental, social and governance) factors is essential in a changing world.

How ESG will help your business

ESG serves as a framework that businesses can use to help improve the impact they have and ensure they continue to grow sustainably.

Sustainability isn’t just about the environment. It’s much more than that: how you think about your people, how you make decisions and how you run your business.

Sustainability can help create competitive advantage through:

  • More sustainable growth of your top and bottom line
  • Better employee engagement
  • Stronger relationships with stakeholders
  • More robust procurement processes and supply chain

We’ve been developing as a responsible business over several years. In 2022 our progress was recognised when we became a Certified B Corporation. We apply this first-hand experience when we advise clients.

    Detailed insights to support growth

    Helping you to get started

Because ESG is such a new and evolving area, you may be uncertain about how to begin.

When we speak to our clients about sustainability, we assess their sustainability journey to help them identify ways in which they can reduce their risk. This could include a better understanding of their supply chain and any weaknesses in it or mapping their stakeholders and how they are impacted by the business’s decisions.

As well as finding ways to reduce the risk they carry, these conversations help us to discover many opportunities for them to grow sustainably.

How could exploring sustainability make a difference?

Assessing the risks and opportunity will particularly benefit your business if you:

    • Require funding or are looking for external investment
    • Work with the public sector
    • Have a supply chain

    We’re focused on the outcomes

As a property company, one of our biggest risks is making sure that our retained portfolio and development pipeline addresses the increasing effects of climate change and adapts for the long term.

Having heard Myfanwy Neville of BKL speak so knowledgeably and passionately at a sustainability conference, I invited her to talk to our team at Marston Properties. Myfanwy's presentation was extremely well received and has been very thought provoking. It concentrates on the G in ESG, which is less well known, and sets out a persuasive case to increase our sustainable activities.

BKL's first-hand experience attaining B Corp certification is very motivating and compelling. So much so that we are looking at how we could achieve this too.

I would urge you to invite Myfanwy to deliver her talk to you and your Team on this extremely important subject.
